After a few unsuccessful visits to sparse Christmas tree lots around the East Bay, we headed up to Sonoma the other day to visit the Christmas tree farms of the North Bay. Although they were sold out of the cut-your-own trees, Little Hills Christmas Tree Farm had a wide selection of pre-cut trees, including a few varietals that I’d never seen before.
Nested up in the hills of Petaluma, the farm totally exudes Christmas spirit, with elves and snowmen around every corner. Apparently we missed Santa (he only works on the weekends) but we had a good enough time anyway.
After a few passes up and down the aisles, we finally settled on an enormous noble fir (slightly different than the fraser firs we used to get back in North Carolina). We’ve got a pretty big living room, and wanted to find something that would fill the space, and at almost nine feet tall, this one certainly did the job.
