Although I’ve been trying to resist the change of seasons (and temperatures did surpass 90 today), autumn is slowly but surely on its way, and my summer uniform of floaty sundresses and flat sandals is becoming less and less appropriate.
Transitional dressing can be tricky — you don’t want to don a white maxi in September, but you don’t want to wear a chunky sweater either — and I’ve been liking this season’s clog trend to transition into fall.
Paired with a floral mini or a shirtdress, clogs can bring the autumn into an otherwise summery outfit (without evoking the unfortunate ’80s style I’m sure you’re picturing right now).
When I first went on the hunt, I was immediately drawn to these. I love the cognac leather paired with wood, but I wasn’t so hot on the 4-inch heel for everyday wear.
Although these aren’t technically clogs, this pair gives the same vibe, and would look great with a pair of cropped skinnies or a denim sundress.
And this pair is the classic clog, straight from Sweden.
Despite the huge wooden heel, these are my favorite. I might just have to grin and bear it, because I love the two-tone leather and wedge heel.
