Like clockwork, the early months of spring set my mind in tropical trip-planning mode, though these days there’s no official Spring Break to speak of. What’s a college grad to do? Take matters into her own hands; er, make sure her friends share her affinity for tropical travels.
While the rest of the world is seemingly heading off to Coachella this weekend (and next!), I’ll be traveling southbound for a weekend in Florida to celebrate the impending nuptials of my dear friend Sammy. I’ve always had the tendency to overpack but have steadily been improving ever since an incident with some Honduran bandits and hijacked luggage a few years back (yes, seriously).
Regardless, it’s always a good idea to plan ahead so not to overdo it while basking in the excitement of the upcoming mini-break.
On my packing list, clockwise, from left:
Rachel Pally cutout maxi dress for late afternoon strolls
Madewell straw tote for both the boardwalk and beach
Madewell denim shirt to throw over a bathing suit on cool afternoons on the beach
L.A. Rays mirrored sunnies to block out those painful early morning rays after too many tropical bevvies
6 Shore Road tropical print mini dress for nights at the beach bar
Dolce Vita flat strappy sandals to dress up and down
6 Shore Road tribal print bikini
Wendy Mink hoop earrings to be worn round-the-clock
