Green Westward Leaning mirrored lenses + Guinness for St. Paddy's Day

New green lenses + Guinness for St. Paddy’s Day

Sunny weekends in the city tend to bring out hoards of runners, bikers, parents with strollers and other sun-seekers, but this weekend brought things to a whole new level. I couldn’t walk half a block without nearly running into a group of green-clad revelers, who were scattered throughout San Francisco’s streets and beyond. Our apartment looks out onto one of the city’s parks, and on Sunday it seemed that there were few patches of grass that weren’t filled with yard games, grills, coolers and whatever else had been brought out of the woodwork for the celebrations.

My St. Patrick’s Day was a bit more low-key, including a beach picnic, a little Guinness and grasshopper cupcakes; I’m a firm believer that minty green desserts are the best kind of desserts.

It may have been lovely and sunny, but I'm pretty sure the bikinis and frolicking in the Pacific were pushing it, ladies

  1. Haha, I like how you’re bundled up in a jacket and scarf and there are bikini-clad girls swimming in the background. It must’ve been freezing in that water! That cupcake looks delish! Mint + chocolate is my favorite combo.

  2. I bet that St. Patrick’s Day was actually a blast in San Francisco!! I’m really not one to go out/celebrate those things anymore (I actually looked up events in LA yesterday so we could go to areas to avoid them) but I would think in SF they would be unavoidable which would make it crazy/fun. AND that cupcake looks amazing!
