Pismo Redux

Continuing my fog-fleeing pattern, we headed south this weekend to Pismo Beach on California’s Central Coast. I’d never been to that part of the coast before and found something slightly reminiscent of the California beach towns of an era gone by, complete with classic neon signs, a lively boardwalk/surfing scene and Skynard/Eagles/Foreigner cover bands. We posted up at the Cliffs Resort situated on Shell Beach (just north of Pismo) and couldn’t have been more pumped about our (dog-friendly!) accommodations – highlights were sweeping views, direct beach access and a ridiculous champagne brunch. Other than a little surfing (the dude) and seaside jogging (me), we basically spent our time chillaxing; knew that beach blanket would come in handy.

Side note: Pismo served as the perfect place to meet up with one of my pals from LA; highly recommend it as a meet-in-the-middle spot for San Francisco/LA.
