Given how sunny and spring-like things have been around here lately, it’s difficult not to channel the season (even on the days that are decidedly neither sunny nor spring-like). I found this blazer on mega-sale around the corner and couldn’t resist – it seemed like just the thing for warm-ish days, or to combat the San Francisco fog on less-than-warm days. Let’s hope the fog monster keeps it in check for a bit.
Though I most certainly dig Easter dresses and all their flowy pastel goodness, I went in a bit of a different direction for brunch this past Sunday. I’ll admit this romper is kind of an odd choice, but something about the combo of bell sleeves and bohemian daisies seemed particularly appropriate for Easter in San Francisco. And as I’ve expressed time and time again, I’m a sucker for all things mint.
I really love a neutral color palette, but I put on this outfit Sunday morning only to realize that I was completely lacking the requisite St. Patrick’s Day green. Luckily, my mirrored shades came to the rescue and no pinches came my way. Sometimes just a tiny bit of color is all you need, no?
So it’s Valentine’s Day. Apart from the candy – and yes, the candy is awesome – I think this day is kinda lame. I can appreciate the value in telling those you love just how much you appreciate them, but a., I don’t see why we need a Hallmark holiday that tells us to do that once a year; and b., it’s a pretty crappy reminder of loneliness when you’re single. Seems kinda unnecessary.
Blue and white has always been one of my favorite color combos, but in years past I’ve been hesitant to wear it in winter months – something about it seemed a bit too suited toward warm weather. I’ve changed my tune lately, however; that Golden Gate seems to go with everything, no?
I’m linking up with Molly of Still Being Molly – be sure to pay her a visit!
Don’t be fooled by the sunshine in these photos – snow doesn’t lie, and it was in fact quite chilly out on this dock this past weekend at Lake Tahoe. That said, the views were more than enough to entice me out there and proved well worth the clumsy trek through deep snowbanks. And it didn’t hurt that this coat is the warmest thing I own – those Canadians sure know their outerwear.
Winter white seems to have made a serious splash on the scene this season, and I really dig it – it seems that the antiquated no-white-after-Labor-Day rules are all but extinct, no? Regardless, let’s embrace the rule-breaking in all its glory while there’s still some semblance of a rule.
