Given how sunny and spring-like things have been around here lately, it’s difficult not to channel the season (even on the days that are decidedly neither sunny nor spring-like). I found this blazer on mega-sale around the corner and couldn’t resist – it seemed like just the thing for warm-ish days, or to combat the San Francisco fog on less-than-warm days. Let’s hope the fog monster keeps it in check for a bit.
Blue and white has always been one of my favorite color combos, but in years past I’ve been hesitant to wear it in winter months – something about it seemed a bit too suited toward warm weather. I’ve changed my tune lately, however; that Golden Gate seems to go with everything, no?
I’m linking up with Molly of Still Being Molly – be sure to pay her a visit!
Years ago on vacation in one of my favorite spots in Puerto Rico, I stumbled across this glass necklace in the gift shop of our hotel. I loved it but hesitated (as Caribbean gift shops can be quite confusing), and when I went back the next day to snag it, it was gone, destined to become one of those pieces that would plague me as the one that got away for years to come. Little did I know, my very sweet boyfriend (now husband) had picked it up for me while I wasn’t looking – even scooping up a not-as-cute pair of matching earrings out of love – and now I can reach for it anytime I want to be instantly transported to that little beach town. January is an excellent time to channel the tropics, right?
I’m not normally one to be drawn toward ruffles and bows and the like, but given my affinity for flowy blouses of late, this one was hard to resist. The serious wind we’ve been experiencing around here recently – as evidenced by my tresses in these photos – has really amped up the flow factor of said blouses, heightening their appeal even more. Well, at least until it gets any colder – boo winter.
You may recall that I sang the praises of a skirt similar to this one a few months ago (and then again) – you should know that my adoration for said skirt has not wavered one bit. Quite the contrary, in fact; on my recent Topshop excursion I came across this gray calf-length version of the beloved skirt and obviously it had to come home with me. Prepare to see a lot more of this one.
